eDPI: your "real" sensitivity
eDPI (effective DPI) multiplies your mouse DPI by your in-game sens. Two players at 400 DPI with sens 2 or 800 DPI with sens 1 have the same eDPI (800): they turn at exactly the same speed. It's the number to compare between players of the same game.
Why eDPI doesn't compare across games
Every game has its own sensitivity scale: sens 1 in Valorant turns about 3 times faster than sens 1 in CS2. An eDPI of 280 in Valorant is therefore about 890 eDPI in CS2. To compare across games, use cm/360: the mouse distance for a full turn, which only depends on your movement.
Reading your cm/360
- Over 45 cm: low sens, arm aiming. Very precise, needs a large mousepad.
- 25 to 45 cm: medium sens, the most common middle ground in tactical shooters.
- Under 25 cm: high sens, wrist aiming. Fast for tracking, harder for precise shots.
None is "the right one": what matters is keeping one long enough for muscle memory to build. The guide to finding your ideal sensitivity explains how to tune it step by step.
